This week with TTR: Kawanori!

Hi friends,

First of all, we would like to congratulate our 100 km heroes of the week: Fran Francis for completing the Trans Jeju 100k in 17 hours and Hajime Kato for solo-running the whole Okumusashi 105k in 31 hours. Amazing!

Only one event this weekend, but a special one, featuring the spectacular Mt Kawanori and Hyakuhiro Waterfall near their peak beauty. Highly recommended to all intermediate runners.

Start Okutama Station - Saturday 19th from 09:25
End Kori Station - ~12:30
Intermediate run narrow trails, exposure - 15 km +1000m ~3h

Mt. Kawanori is one of the most interesting mountains in Okutama, and even better it includes the dramatic Hyakuhiro Waterfall, one of the largest near Tokyo. This course is open for all intermediate trailrunners who would like to hit some high peaks. High point is 1,400 meters.
Start is Okutama Station, from where we will run about 3 or 4 km on the road to the trailhead. Finish will be at Kori Station , where there is a Konbini. If you wish to leave a bag in the lockers at Okutama Station that is possible, if you don't mind going backwards a few stations after finishing and before heading to Tokyo.
There are no services anywhere on this course after Okutama Station, so bring enough snacks (water is available from the numerous falls and streams).
The section before the waterfall is a bit sketchy. It is important to move carefully for safety. Please wear proper trail running shoes. Fascinating course for Intermediate and above runners.
Maximum 12 runners. Even if rain is forecast this run will not be cancelled.
