This week with TTR: Local events and local races!

Hi friends,
Crazy weather, isn't it? Looking at photos, you'd think you just mixed up summer and winter pics together! First it's blue skies and sun, then it's cold rain and snow and back again 😄
Still, that didn't stop us from having FIVE local events lined up, taking us all around Tokyo to enjoy rivers, flowers and temples!
And let's not forget the Ome Takamizu trail race this weekend, that will see both our teens (Samika, Euan, Samriti, Kye, Anna, Yuta, Mie and Michito) and friends (Tsubasa, Chisato, Hang, Natsumi, Sony, Alain) lined up both Saturday and Sunday!
Keep following our newsletter and our Facebook page for more announcements and updates.

Let's enjoy side trails of Takao and Shiroyama! We will start in Takao-Sanguchi station at 08.30 and end in Takao-Sanguchi station around 13.30. This Intermediate course is 22km long, with an elevation gain of 1200 m, and is open to 10 participants.
We are meeting at Takaosanguchi station at 8:30am Sunday 6th. The run is intermediate due to mileage mostly, otherwise it will be a review of familiar trails with a few surprises.
We will make our way to Takao on the Inariyama trail and then continue to Shiroyama. From there, we will descend to Sagamiko (without touching the station), and then be going back first to Kobotoke pass (through a side trail not very popular, but pleasant and runnable) and then Shiroyama again.
At Shiroyama, we can take a snack/drink break and enjoy the lively atmosphere. From Shiroyama, we will turn left (instead of going straight back to Takao), but not on the road as usual, but on a 3km (another side trail not very know: not difficult but with some steep passage) trail that will take us all the way down to the main road from where we will return to Takaosanguchi after another 4km of flat road.
Total distance and elevation will be 20/22km for 1000/1200 D+.
Weather is unpredictable these days, but the Sunday forecast is for occasional rain with temperature around 15/20 degrees Celsius.
Please bring with you:
500ml of water
Light snacks
Rain jacket
A change of clothes (T-shirt, socks, pants)
There are lockers at Takaosanguchi station where you can store your extra gear. The run is a loop, so there is no need to carry
👟 Trail running shoes required.
💧 Bring at least 1 liter of water (there are vending machines along the way).
🗄 The run starts and ends at the same station, which has lockers you may use and share.
♨ If you wish, you can use a nearby hot spring after the finish.
⚠ To avoid startling hikers on the course, do not run straight through, but stop to greet and pass them. Greet other trail runners as well.
