This week with TTR: Golden Week peaks and onsen

Hi friends,

Even on the mountains, we can't totally escape the bustle underneath. Alas!

And since this may be one the busiest hiking weekends of the year, we decided to brush off a TTR classic that is both nicely accessible yet off the beaten path enough to stay away from the crowds

Hope you will join us this weekend, and we look forward to seeing you at the 35K recon/試走 next week. Our first Okumusashi-related event <3

Keep following our newsletter and our Facebook page for more announcements and updates.

Let's enjoy golden week with this convenient and beautiful run, with a relaxing onsen ending. Starting just a couple of minites away from the Okutama station station, the trail passes through Mt.Nokogiri and Mt.Otake (where Fuji could make its apperance) before snaking down to Mt. Mitake and Tsurutsuru onsen with a beautiful, fun downhill.

  • Bring a mask/buff
  • Bring a 1L water bottle or buy it from vending machines
  • Trailrunning shoes are recommended for comfort and safety
  • We will start and end in different stations, pack everything with you
  • Remember that the Holiday Rapid train splits in Hajima station in order to reach both Musashi Itsukaichi and Okutama. You want to be in the OKUTAMA half for the start.
  • Buses from Tsurutsuru onsen to Musashi Itsukaichi run about every 30 minutes

Let's train and refresh on a beautiful forest loop.

The Okumusashi Long Trail is our main event of the year and the 35k is its smaller, introductory race.

No one would believe trails this wild, relentless but beautiful are only 1 hour away from Central Tokyo!

We are organizing this preview run in order to train and learn the course.

While we will not always keep a race pace, you can expect this event to be more sport-oriented than usual.

  • Will cancel in case of rain
  • Meeting point is next to the Atom/Astroboy statue in Chuo Park. You can't miss it!
  • Bring enough food and most importantly water. This will be a long run.
  • There are lockers at both Hanno stations and a casual sento nearby
